First Live Smashing Four Tournament

Last Saturday, gamers from all over the Czech Republic and beyond gathered in the centre of Prague for the world’s first live Smashing Four tournament.

Hosted by TV personality and avid gamer Mikoláš Tuček, the tournament welcomed 69 players to compete for the trophy and some fabulous prizes including an amazing mobile phone! Families supported each other, as players battled it out for the ultimate prize. The tournament also gave fans of the game a chance to meet the Smashing Four’s creators.

YouTube sensation, and Czech Republic’s biggest YouTuber, Jirka Král, made a rare public appearance since announcing his retirement, to present the trophies and support the tournament, which was being held in his very own venue, Zetko in Prague’s famous and historical Kotva Shopping centre.

As gamers of all ages, some as young as 6, battled for the ultimate prize, only one player could triumph. Known simply by his in game moniker, Tata, aptly attending with his son and wife, beat all the competition to take home the trophy. As he raised his trophy in front of the crowd to the familiar tones of Queen’s “We are the Champions”, kids got their autographs from Jirka and the sun set on the very bright future for competitive gaming in Smashing Four.

We’ll see you at the next event!
